Papertrey October Bloghop

This is my second post for today if you are looking for the Perfect Presentation Post and Giveaway it is the next one.

It is time for another Papertrey Bloghop

This month the challenge says "it is dedicated to those that celebrate winter
holidays other than Christmas. We are to create a project that celebrates Hanukkah, Kwanzaa or some other winter holiday as we embrace everyone's beliefs in a celebration of diversity through paper crafting."

When I saw this challenge I was thrilled since Christmas usually gets the most attention. Since I am Jewish and celebrate Hanukkah I am always happy for it to get some recognition too so this was a perfect challenge for me. This is what I came up with

Dreidel is a game that you play during Hanukkah. I thought this Candy Box would be great to fill with Hanukkah Gelt (Chocolate Coins).
I also decided to make a video showing how I made the background paper and the rest of the box. If you have any questions let me know. I look forward to seeing what other holidays everyone is sharing today. As always thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great week!

Cupcake Monday And A Sketch Challenge

Happy Monday! I hope you are having a good one. Mine started off with the DVR in our bedroom breaking. It will not record anymore. Dish Network is sending me another one but I am going to lose all the show I had recorded on it which is not good. At least I can still watch most of them online though. Last week we also had a new furnace put in our house the other one was 17 years old and only working at 50%. After that I ended up spending a lot more than I should have on the new Papertrey release and am still feeling guilty about it but hopefully once I get the package and start using the things I bought I will feel better about it. I also did not get much accomplished because I had another bad week with my migraines but thankfully I was feeling better this weekend so Emilia and I baked again. This time we made White Chocolate Strawberry cupcakes.

These are the ones Emilia decorated. She also photographed them herself. I think she did an awesome job!
I was also able to make a card to go with them too. I used Jen Delmuro's Sketch this week as the base
This is what I came up with.

I started by printing out the digi Pure Innocence image from Heather Ellis. After that I colored her and the cupcake with Copic Markers then I paper pieced her dress. When I was done with that I did the out of the box technique so it looked like the cupcake is coming out of the oval then I matted it on another oval that was cut from PTI's New leaf cardstock. After that I ran a piece of Tempting Turquoise Cardstock through my Cuttlebug using the Sizzix Dots embossing folder. The PP paper is from Crystal's Sweet Summertime Paperpack #2. I got it here The solid background piece is PTI Melon Berry and Harvest Gold Cardstock. A piece of New leaf Satin ribbon,3 blue brads and machine stitching finish it off.
That's it for now. I hope to be back soon with more to share. In the meantime I hope your week is a good one and thanks for stopping by.

Big Birthday Wishes And Another Award

Happy Friday everyone. I hope you all had a good week and are looking forward to the weekend. Today is my moms birthday. As I have said before she is very special and means the world to me. This year she wanted an MP3 player so she could listen to her books on cd so that is what my sister and I got her but I also wanted to make her something special too. One of her favorite things is coffee. Lauren Meader's new release this month was coffee themed which turned out to be perfect timing. I also remembered seeing this post from Dawn McVey and decided the To Go template would be the perfect packaging. This is what I came up with.

As you can see the coffee cosie fits perfectly on the cup! It will also fit on Starbucks cups as well. Here is a mini card I made a card to go with it.

Everything was done digitally except the sentiment. The cup image is from Lauren's new Fancy A Cuppa Digital set. The sentiment is from Ali Miles Birthday set.
I also added a Starbucks gift card inside the cup here is a photo of the complete gift set.

I am really happy with how this turned out. I hope my mom will like it too.
I also received another blog award this week.
This one is from Laurel
I am suppose to pass it on to 7 other bloggers now but I am still dealing with migraines so I am going to have to pass on that part. If you are on my blog list you can consider yourself nominated though. Thanks Laurel for the award it really means a lot to me.
That's it for now. I will be back soon with more to share until then I hope you have a great weekend and as always thanks for stopping by.

Cupcake Monday A Challenge and An Award

Happy Monday everyone. I hope your weekend was a good one. I was planning on sharing this with you yesterday but ended up with a killer migraine so I am doing it today instead. Emilia picked the Devils Food Cupcake for us to try this time. I decorated mine to match the DP on the packaging.

This is how Emilia chose to decorate hers.

Since it is finally feeling and looking like fall around here I decided to go with a fall theme. You are getting a preview of new Perfect Presentation template Leigh Ann is coming out with soon. It makes a great cupcake box but could also hold a candle too.

After I made the base of the box from PTI Dark Chocolate Cardstock I added panels from this digital paper pack
I cut a circle in the top then attached a piece of acetate. After that I cut another circle to outline it.

Inside the box is an insert to hold the cupcake or candle in place. You don't have to use it if you don't want to though but as you can see the cupcake fits perfectly. To finish the box off I added an image from the new PTI Everyday Treats Set.
This project also qualifies for Angy's Peeps Challenge #15 which was to make something with a fall theme.
I was also honored to receive a Cherry On Top Award from Rhonda today. Thanks Rhonda!

Now I am suppose to share a photo and tell you something about myself . . .
I share a lot about myself already here on my blog so it was hard to come up with something you have not heard before. I don't read a lot of fiction but my favorite author is Judy Blume. I have read every one of her books more than once and still have all of them. I even got to meet her in person one time and got her autograph too!
The picture I chose to share is what is left of our vegetable garden this year. As you can see these 2 tomato plants are huge but did not produce many tomatoes, we are still getting a few though.

Now I need to pass this award on to 5 other ladies who I think deserve it too.It is hard to pick just 5 people but they are:
Bethie I met her in the PTI forum last year and we have become great friends and we have a lot in common. She is the sweetest person! I also love the things she shares on her blog and how creative she is too.
Carol Lives in Colorado too. I love her work that she shares on her blog especially her shabby vintage style.
Laurel I love all the fun things she shares on her blog and how her stamping is evolving too.
Peggy Sue She is the one that started the Papertrey Peeps group. I love her work and when she shares her faith and words of wisdom on her blog.
Leigh Ann I also met her in the PTI forum. She is the creative genius behind the Prefect Presentation templates but I am also a big fan of her work that she shares on her blog too.
That's it for me for now. I am off to work on a birthday present for my mom now. I hope to be back Friday to share that with you. Until then I hope you have a great week and as always thanks for stopping by.
